For Plantar warts

What is
Fungal Nail

Fungal Nail is a common nail infection that can cause the toenails to thicken and take on a yellowish or cloudy appearance. The nails can become rough and crumbly, or can even separate from the nail bed. Generally, there is no pain or physical symptoms, unless the disease has progressed to a severe stage of development.

Laser Treatment

Until recently, toenail fungus treatment had been limited to topical anti-fungal creams/nail lacquer and oral medication. With limited success and many downsides, these treatments have become secondary to the more effective laser treatments.

Simply stated, the laser machine shines a laser beam light into the toenail. Many thousands of laser pulses penetrate into, around, under, and onto the toenail to destroy the fungus. The energy from the laser beam shatters the structure of the fungus, thereby killing it permanently. The laser machine has a focal wavelength which only goes after the fungus, and nothing else. As a result, this laser light has no damaging results to the normal, healthy toenail areas or surrounding skin.

What is
Plantar Wart?

A wart is a thickened and elevated small growth of skin that develops when the skin becomes infected by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Warts can develop anywhere on the foot, but typically occur on areas of direct pressure under the foot, such as the ball and the heel. Hard and thick callus can grow over the wart lesions as they grow inward and make them more painful. Clotted blood vessels or as the are commonly called “wart seeds” present as black dots at the base of the lesions.

We treat plantar warts with a cutting edge, FDA cleared technology called SWIFT® Immunotherapy. SWIFT delivers low dose microwave energy through a specialized probe that targets and effectively treats the underlying HPV virus by stimulating a natural immune response in the body – addressing the root cause; not the symptom.

The SWIFT treatment typically requires 3 treatments which are scheduled four weeks apart. The treatment lasts 5-10 minutes with limited debridement, no breaking of the skin and no bandages. No home treatment is required between treatments and patients are able to resume daily activities immediately post-treatment.
